The MLK Day of Service event will take place on Sunday, January 15, at Temple Beth Am in Framingham – 300 Pleasant St, Framingham. We welcome everyone to volunteer – teens, adults, and families with young children. Kids in grade 7 and under should be accompanied by an adult.
This year’s event will offer two modes of participation:
In-person – at Temple Beth Am from 1-4pm:
– Bake lasagnas and banana breads OR build wooden desks (each is a “full-time” activity)
– Assemble soup jars (shorter activity, great for younger kids, can be done in addition to a main activity)
– Decorate Stars of Hope (shorter activity, great for younger kids, can be done in addition to a main activity)
Kit-based – Pick up kits with all the ingredients (or parts) and instructions and bring back the final products. Kit pick-up will be at Beth Am from 10am-1pm, and drop off will be at Beth Am between 4-6pm OR the next morning at Congregation Beth El (Sudbury) from 10am-noon.
Kit options are:
– Desk Kit
– Lasagnas kit (2 lasagnas in a kit, pans included)
Educators/Rabbis – if you wish to register a team of volunteers, please email info@jloftboston the number and age/s of the participants.
