MLK Day if Service 2023 - Leadership Team Registration
Welcome, and thanks for your interest in joining the Leadership Team at the 2023 MLK MetroWest Day of Service! This is a unique opportunity for teens in grades 7-12 (and a few adults) to not just volunteer, but LEAD this important annual event. Hard work, great time, laughs and sore feet guaranteed.

The Leadership Team will meet on Zoom on Tuesday, January 10 and 8:00pm for Orientation.
Here’s how you can help as part of the Leadership Team:
Saturday (January 14), 6-9pm – Set up and kit assembly (dinner included).
Leaders will set up the work space at Beth Am, prepare the ingredients for use, and assemble ingredient kits to be picked up by volunteers who would like to bake/build at home.
Sunday, 10am-1pm – Leader orientation and kit distribution (lunch included)
Leaders will learn and practice how to make the lasagnas, banana breads, soup jars, desks, and starts of hope – on which they will guide the volunteers at the event itself. In addition, leaders will register arriving volunteers and distribute the ingredient kits.
Sunday, 1-4pm – Guide, supervise, and support volunteers at the event
Main tasks will be to guide to volunteers on the different bake and make options, provide quality control, replenish supplies, and provide general help.
Sunday, 4-6pm – Break down and accepting made goods
Clearing up the space and receive baked good the “kit people” made.
Monday (January 16), 10am-noon – Accepting goods and deliver to sites
This is the second collection window for the kits, which will be at Congregation Beth El (not Beth Am).
Students – Being on the Leadership Team qualifies for community service hours (up to 11 hours). Students in grade 7 must volunteer with a parent. 8-12 graders do not.
Parents – We mostly need you for the 1-4pm slot on Sunday, but would love to have you at other times as well.
